NAJA Awards

CKRZ FM would like to congratulate and recognize Chezney Martin who has won a Native American Journalists Association Award. Chezney Martin is from the Six Nations Community and Grand River Territory. Chezney has won the award for her piece, Hunting part of a ‘beautiful system’ in Six Nations, Ont., which was the piece that kicked off the CBC Six Nations content last year. It won third place for best environmental coverage for print/online in the professional division.

Also congratulations to Chezney on your other win for best editorial for your piece Paving the Way Forward: Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples Cannot Take the Backseat in Land Back Leaders Journal Issue 1!
CKRZ FM would also like to congratulate and recognize Kelly Boutsalis who is also originally from the Six Nations Community. Kelly’s research was part of a really powerful story by Ka’nhehsí:io Deer, The boy behind the cruel nickname, which has won for best news story – TV.
