Amplifying Voices
Amplifying Voices provides grants to various Indigenous broadcasters to support and encourage the production and distribution of Indigenous language programming at a local level. It was designed to preserve and strengthen Indigenous language.
The following statement was made by CRFC:
“The Community Radio Fund of Canada is happy to announce Amplifying Voices, a new funding stream to support Indigenous broadcasters in strengthening Indigenous language content at the local level.
All Indigenous Type B radio stations are eligible for the program and can receive up to $20,000 to cover expenses related to the production and distribution of Indigenous language radio programming. Applications will be reviewed by a jury of Indigenous language experts, authors, producers, and broadcasters.
The CRFC will be accepting applications via its portal until Friday March 7th at 3:00PM. Late applications will unfortunately not be considered.
We strongly encourage applicants to review the program guidelines and to contact our Programs Director Emmanuel Sayer with any questions or comments.
We look forward to a successful inaugural year of Amplifying Voices!”
CKRZ consulted and helped set up this program. CKRZ Director Amos Key Jr. had the following to say
“I am grateful for the foresight of the, Community Radio Fund, in establishing the’ Amplifying Voices’ funding program for licensed Indigenous Community Radio Stations to help produce Indigenous Language(s) radio content.
